thank you so much for running this blog! when times are tough it can be so easy to fall into a depression. knowing that there will be a new high quality fag every day, carefully selected by a blogrunner with high standards, helps counter that.
Thank you for your kind words. ❤️

is it just me or did this cover do Ringo dirty? I grew up assuming that Ringo was a foot shorter than everyone because of photos like these - but he’s maybe 4” shorter than them?? Someone explain this insane cover choice and why Ringo agreed to it
Pls make your best case in the comments
still worship this love
Everyone who got an advanced copy of the McLennon book yesterday - are you done reading it yet? Can you tell us everything and or send it to me? 😂😘
why so obvious?
John by Paul
Colin Hanton says, ‘John and Paul circled each other like cats.’ Their interest in each other was deeper and more complex than it appeared to anyone watching the encounter. There was instant recognition, a chemical connection made between two boys who sensed in the other the same heartfelt commitment to this music, the same do-or-die. For all the circling, posturing, and checking out that went on, what it all came down to was love at first sight.”

Next to the lyrics from ‘I’ll Get You’ is a note from Mimi to John, telling him she is going out for an hour : which begs the question; why is this note here? Let me rephrase; why has Paul included a note that tells us that that a young John and Paul had the house to themselves for an hour? And why, of all the media Paul could have chosen, is this accompanying a teenage declaration of love, which has, Paul helpfully tells us ‘some schoolboy humour’ about ‘I’ll get you in the end’ . (Sorry, I can’t sense his tone. Is he talking about trying to get a chaste kiss or bum sex)
Ok now I have more questions; why has Paul held onto this note for 60 years.. it’s not even a memento of his family. There’s no scribbled lyrics on the other page. The ‘explanation’ of the lyrics talk about Mimi and Mendips, but surely he has something better than *this* to illustrate her character?
I mean… it’s almost like, maybe, I don’t know, something happened for the first time during the time that they had the house to themselves , and Paul being the sentimental and horny romantic he is, has decided to keep this as a memento, and it works perfectly next to a song about chaste kisses. Or ahem, something something getting your end away.
Side note: John sings the beginning of this to Paul in Get Back! ‘Imagine I’m in love with you/it’s easy cause I know’
Paul McCartney: "He (John Lennon) was such a big part of my life (...)" (Staff warning him to redo because a "weird blue flame" appeared.) Paul McCartney: "That was John! Haha! It's him. That's alright, it's ok, leave it in, it was John, he is around, can you see?"
