i need somebody to remember me
tô começando a me preocupar com a possibilidade de boku no hero academia seja a história de como o deku perdeu o braço e não de como ele virou o no. 1 porque tá foda
ah, the goals friendship
lmao i love how stan and kenny jump in
hanging out with my narrative parallel !
I gotta say. One Piece is one of the few animes that doesn't provoke "canon is not real unless I like it" syndrome on me. I really love the story as a whole, I really don't need fanon all that much
There is, however, one detail I pretend I do not see: The timeline. Like, the actual timeline. How much time had passed.
No, I'm not talking about timeskip.
*Grabs Eiichiro Oda by his neck* What do you MEAN it passed ONE MONTH between the Reverse Mountain and Water 7?
No no, this can't do. You're telling me the straw-hats had been sailing for two months top?? Nah, nah, nah. You don't understand them like I do. IN MY OPINION:
East Blue lasted two months, maybe a bit less, maybe a bit more.
Then after Chopper they sailed for like 4 more month's to get to Water 7/Ennies Lobby.
Immediately after that came Thriller Bark. Skeleton acquired. Then they went on off screen adventures for like a month. (I refuse to believe Brook found friends just to lose them a few days later on Saboady)
The separation marked 7, maybe 8 months together. That's a good amount I think. I know they see each other 24/7 and that's more than enough time to create strong bonds but they spend 2 years away from each other. That's a lot of 24/7's apart. I want them to have time together.
Because it has been 20 years of One Piece and I still think we have few nakamaship moments. And that is saying something seeing the whole One Piece is one big nakamaship centric slice of life fanfiction.
twitter is oficially gone in brazil ill have to start invading peoples homes and screaming my thoughts into their faces
the worst thing about my life is that i'm genuinely obsessed with eric cartman
"i lacked the courage to die for my ideals, and it wont happen again."
c!Techno’s character arc is not about changing his ideals, but slowly becoming better at them, and it’s not something you see much in storytelling, especially in characters with defined political ideologies. It’s awesome, unique, and honestly? Really freaking valuable.
I love the practicality of Luffys crew
Like from a tactical sense; Luffy as captain is immune to blunt attacks and is fairly adept at hand to hand contact being absolutely feral. His biggest (and most obvious) weakness is that he is susceptible to slashing attacks. So he’s got 2 choices, learn how to sword fight OR get a really good swordsman, so he picks up a guy who just happens to WANT to be the greatest swordsman.
Cool, next weakness of Luffys (from a capture/arrest/ damage perspective) is distance attacks. Yes he’s immune to bullets and cannon balls but a sneak attack or a bullet aimed above/near him would be a good choice, so he then picks up a sharpshooter. And not just any, this one is the son of a commander of an emperor of the Sea…who also happens to be the best sharpshooter.
Next Luffy is not the best at specialized hand to hand combat. Sure he’s able to carry his own for a long way but waves of marines means special forces and eventually even Luffy is going to run into someone who could pose a problem due to energy expenditure, so he picks up a cook who happens to be the protege of a captain who sailed the grand line and was renouned for his special fighting techniques (plus bonus long lost family powers)
Then to round it off, he picks a navigator who has fought pirates/marines her whole life, who can read the water and wind in a way that even fish men envy and who can provide you with the best path of escape each and every time. Not to mention she has some hand to hand combat skills + wind/weather powers to create some specialized sneak/power attacks
Just…from a marine/ tactical standpoint, I’d be shitting myself from just East Blue Crew alone. Not to mention a doctor from island of doctors who can speak to animals and turn into a giant monster, an archeologist who can read the secrets your government spent 800 years hiding and who grew up an assassin, a shipwright who not only trained under the man who built the previous pirate kings ship but who also doubles as an armoury whenever needed, an 8ft sword wielding skeleton who can summon attacks from hell and a literal rogue warlord who happens to be the strongest fishman still in universe (thus far) in a world that heavily depends on devil fruit users to keep piece. And that’s not including all Luffys allies over his journey…
Like damn…no wonder people dub him a 5th warlord. Half his crew alone causes a shit ton of damage (dressrosa, WCI) so I’m REALLY excited for Wano to be a game changer in how the world sees this little, goofy, but terrifyingly competent pirate crew
I'm not calling you "good boys" gang, this adventure was shit
literally one piece
its one of the most emotional deep media we have out there, exploring all the nuances and contradictions of human interactions and dynamics, diving DEEP on connection and relationships
not one of the main relationships explored is romantic. ALL OF THEM ARE EITHER PLATONIC OR FRATERNAL!!! AND IT SHOWS HOW DEEPLY IMPORTANT THIS RELATIONS ARE!!!
(i know in whole cake island we really get to know pudding and sanji but the main thread of the arc is FAMILY so really i can get past that disaster. also it constantly points out how romance IS NOT the ultra form of love, romance is NOT what guide sanji after all and hes the arguably most romantic character. one piece teaches us all kinds of love are as meaningful if not more than romance)
god i just love it when a story treats a completely platonic relationship with the same level of narrative importance as if it were a romantic relationship
LIKE YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! Platonic bonds are just as if not even more important than romantic bonds!!! LIKE YES A FRIENDSHIP CAN BE LOVE STORY AND THAT CAN NOT BE CONTRADICTORY STATEMENT TO SAY!!!
