Wednesday: *Falling*
Tyler Every Chance He Gets: 🏃🏾♂️💨
Tyler's dialogue has always resonated with me during this scene, because we haven't seen Wednesday gone back to the coffee since episode 1. Which actually means she went back, but we viewers we just don't haven't seen it done. It happened off screen. So they also probably had scenes that we didn't see. I mention this because antis sometimes like to say that there wasn't enough of a scene between these two for Tyler to say they both seemed to like each other, except in fact, they actually spent more time together than what we saw on screen. In a series, there are always off-screen things happening. And Tyler and Wednesday clearly saw each other off-screen in / between episode 2 and 3. Enough for her to have a very specific habit in her commands. Because yes, to have a habit in a coffee, you obviously have to go there several times.
Also... Something tells me she hasn't had to pay often.
Thanks, Doc.
#fav scene of twisted hate.
So I was telling Sparky on the Wyler server an Angsty AU to evermore that was floating in my head:
Wednesday is the reincarnation of Goody Addams and while she doesn't have all of Goody's memories or even powers, she is much more aware of things and remembers most of Goody's life in Jericho. She didn't want to go to nevermore because she doesn't want to confront the metaphorical ghosts there and compare the life Goody had there with what is there now. Nine schools later, her parents are forcing the issue. this time Pugsley goes to nevermore with her as well mid-semester so she isn't just navigating her own entry but also Pugsley's as well. everything is torturous and she has already made two escape attempts only to be caught by various teachers. The Blood Moon isn't scheduled to happen until American Thanksgiving so Wednesday doesn't worry about risking resurrecting Crackstone since she'll be back in NJ with her fam.
It's not until she has her second session with kinbott that she just up and leaves early. She goes to the weathervane and she appears in front of the broken espresso machine but this time she is just as stunned by the person on the other side as Tyler.
Because Tyler looks just like her dead hyde husband, Grey Addams, back in Jericho in 1665.
She muddles through the interaction and they have a chemistry but Tyler definitely doesn't remember anything and she thinks this is a fluke. It was strange enough for her to grow up into a body just like her old one (save for darker hair). She rationalizes that it's improbable that Tyler is the reincarnate of her husband (she checks thoroughly.....). Tyler actually does dream of being Grey Addams but he doesn't remember his dreams at all (until it's too late). Wednesday may not completely be a new girl learning to socialize but Tyler is definitely not the small-town boy that she worries she is using as a replacement for Grey
When Wednesday she meets the hyde in the forest, she is lost. She knows the torture and pain it takes for a hyde to awaken. In Goody's life, it was the loss of their first child that awakened Grey. She tries to see if Tyler is the hyde but something he says throws her off and she starts to look more closely at nevermore. That's when she finds out that hydes were banned 30+ years earlier along with other kinds of outcasts and she is furious.
Tyler is dark here, very much thinks he's playing her (and is actively manipulating her throughout) but is slowly getting frustrated when he realizes she has had a previous relationship and it was serious. At some point, he wonders if she was sent to nevermore because of some Romeo and Juliet situation. After Tyler and Wednesday start officially dating but Wednesday is still hunting the hyde and the master, they have a date where for some unfathomable reason where Tyler asks who her ex was. Wednesday stares at Tyler for a moment and she says "Their name was Grey" Tyler asks if he was an outcast and Wednesday says "He was a Hyde…. they're a kind of shapeshifter like werewolves but no ties to the lunar cycle."
Tyler's blood runs cold.
This is the first time they ever brought up Hydes and it's only later that she brings Nathaniel Faulkner's diary to show Tyler what Hydes are. Tyler doesn't even know what to do when he realizes she has to know what the "bear" in the woods has been the whole time. He realizes even later she has already eliminated him from the list of suspects but the fact she is looking terrifies him.
It's not until Tyler has betrayed Wednesday, kidnapping her the day of the blood moon to sacrifice her that he suddenly can access Grey's memories; previously his Hyde was the part of him that remembered Grey much to his confusion.
Tyler is grieving and angsting throughout because there are so many spectres in his life and it only hurts more when he finally remembers being Grey that he realizes he just sentenced his soulmate to death and helped resurrect the man who killed him in his first life. Crackstone tries to kill Tyler by drowning him after he stabs Wednesday and leaves her bleeding out on the floor of the crypt. They are both rescued by the Nightshades that Wednesday had turned into active informants rather than a teen hangout group.
Wednesday and Tyler defeat Crackstone together but they are still broken. Tyler refuses to be separated from Wednesday after everything but Wednesday is really badly wounded and can't offer any absolution as she slips into a coma.
Also, Garret/Laurel's Dad Ansel is still alive in this AU.
Aaron Blackford freaking out bc Lina is not eating
just a king being a king
Tyler: Look, I get it. You’re stressed out, two people died –
Wednesday: Twelve people died.
Tyler: Not the point. The point is, they’re dead now and really, whose fault is that?
Wednesday: Yours.
Tyler: That’s right, no one’s.
