I'm in a musical (Bright Star) and the first show is in literally two minutes so I made a blinkie in my terror
Ooo I love it! It really has that ‘calm moment in the midst of storms’ vibe, like I feel the tranquility of the moment but also the tinge of melancholy that comes from the constant danger of being a Killjoy. It has a soft bittersweetness.
Anyways, future me here, just combing back through my drafts for anything with a Christmas vibe. I spotted the Christmas lights (and, once I increased my screen brightness, Poison’s sweater). So, have some Christmas Killjoys :)
FINISHED FINALLY Gee and Frank as Party Poison and Fun Ghoul at the California desert
I never realized that cat memes had a recorded point of origin in history! These pictures are not only fun but also historically significant :) I learned something today. Thank you, Mr. Pointer, for your wonderful contribution to our society.
My gosh, the quality of fanart never ceases to amaze me! His eyes are so pretty and the lighting is beautifully done, and beyond that, it does a great job of capturing Klaus’s emotions; the whole thing just aches.
I’m really glad Netflix recommended Umbrella Academy to us. I’d never heard of it before, but it was definitely an interesting story and it’s always fun to happen on to something good right as it becomes popular! I mean, I love a good niche interest, too, but like, it’s just more convenient when a bunch of people are interested in the same thing at the same time. Fandom will also help with the all-too-long wait for season 2...
‘Klaus’ from The Umbrella Academy Just finished the season and so far he’s my favourite.
My boyfriend @ravenfal told me he had something that would make me laugh...
(Inspired by this post)
Absolutely the cutest of all vampires <3
Anyways, here’s a rather more heartwarming Mother’s Day fanart piece of young Loki learning magic from his mom :)
“You [Thor] and your father cast large shadows. I had hoped by sharing my gifts with Loki that he could find some sun for himself.”
OMG MOM UR SO COOL HOW DO YOU DO THAT WOWOWWOW
Oo, this is like... modern impressionism! It’s great :) I love the vibe and the sense of motion and the colors so much!!
And I agree, the Danger Days family is beautiful and precious <3
Run away like it was yesterday
If we could run away, run away from here

I am realizing that I’ve been obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer for more than a month now but I haven’t put anything on my main blog from it yet, so it’s time to remedy that :)
There is something so tragic and darkly beautiful about Spike and Drusilla’s relationship... I quite like the light this quote casts on Spike’s turning, how he was a poet out looking for his ideal of love, and in her own way, Drusilla was looking for her ideal of love too, but neither of them got quite what they expected--and yet they also sort of did, oddly? In a twisted sense, Drusilla got her knight, brave and true, inasmuch as a vampire can be one; from a vampire’s point of view, killing a slayer could indeed be akin to slaying a great beast, except for the part where they themselves are the beasts to be slain (from a human perspective, at least). And Spike really did get a grand romance with Dru (until it ended), though it involved perhaps more pain and death than he had anticipated. They are in many ways a dark, grim old fairy tale couple.
528: First time I’ve ever wished for a disney version.
(The part neon ghost is replying to is where I asked if Cherri Cola's gender was a Welcome to Night Vale reference)
Now I can't help imagining a WTNV/Killjoy crossover though. Like, what if Night Vale is the Zone 13 no one talks about or something? Most of the time the radio signals can’t make it through that patch of weird interference, but once in a while, the wind blows just right and over the static the Killjoys hear not Dr. Death Defying but a strange man mooning over a handsome scientist or whispering the name ‘Huntokar’...
Party Poison: *nods thoughtfully* "Yes, i do, indeed, have one."
Show Pony: "Dunno, lost it in the City. Hope to get it back some day." *sighs whistfully looking in the distance*
Cherri Cola: *shrugs* "Partially boy, mostly void."
This post is what caused me to put this book on my Christmas list this year. I got it and I’m not super far in yet (I’m in Chapter 5, shortly after the bit with Borusa, actually) but it is entirely as fun as advertised so far! :)
Honestly I just get so excited whenever they go to Gallifrey, despite the Doctor and all intergalactic tour guides’ apparent consensus that it is a hopelessly dull place. But it’s a place replete with backstory and that’s why I love it. I have an academy-era fic I’ve been working on and I’m already thinking how I’m going to have to revise my portrayal of Borusa based on what I’ve learned in this book.
And, of course, it does have that distinctive Douglas Adams tone. My dad was surprised to learn that Adams had written for Doctor Who, actually, so that was a fun bit of knowledge to impart. Very fun book :)
Welcome, dear traveller, to our fantastical lande shrouded in swirling violet mists. Here we study how stories shape our lives, how words weave wonders before our eyes. Here we are enamoured of love and the connections betwixt people. Here we seek daring adventures in our wild lande, delving into the unknown at every turn. But mostly, here you'll find my obsession with any number of things, like Doctor Who, the Vampire Diaries, or any number of others from the ever-shifting tide of obsessions through which I cycle. My more-used sideblog is blagueofchaos if you ever wish I posted more :) She/her, 28
