So Ravenclaw common room is absolutely gorgeous with Halloween decorations right now. It’s making me curious–what do the other houses’ common rooms look like right now? Please reblog with a pic of your house’s Halloween decorations; I want to see them all!

we are only what we always were, but naked now.

So! I've been working on the My Home(TM) kitchen in Design Home, and I've got it juuuuust about perfect (or as much as it can be within the limited options of design home), but I keep going back and forth on which rug I want. And then I thought, why not ask tumblr? So, behold:

Option 1:

I've always wanted a yellow kitchen, but there was no option to make the walls yellow in design home, so a nice bright yellow rug seems like a good compromise. However, my yellow/multicolor floral accent chair doesn't shine as well against this background.

Option 2:

The blue complements the rest of the kitchen well and gives my table and chairs a solid background to pop against. However, I worry it makes the room too dark and the color palette too cool for my goal of a bright, sunshiney kitchen.

Option 3:

Purple is my favorite color (quelle surprise if you know me at all, lol) and it's a good inbetween tone-wise I think. However, I worry the pattern of this rug is a touch busy.

If you pick the fourth one, you're legally obligated to tell me what rug you're thinking of. Also legal disclaimer that I am not bound by the results of this poll and I'll probably make up my mind on my own eventually, but I'm curious to see how things shake out, and also I lowkey wanted to show off my home designing.

I don’t know what it is about Geek & Sundry shows but I always end up shipping the thing that everyone else in the fandom says is meant to be purely platonic. First it was Percy and Keyleth, and now I’m having Jasper/Annabelle feels... halp. 

I know it's a little belated, but I'm not ready to move on to Christmas music just yet personally. If you know any other good Thanksgiving-themed songs, please do tell me in the notes! I'm always looking to expand my holiday playlists and Thanksgiving is definitely the shortest on holiday-specific songs.

Edited to add, I know everybody says this, but please reblog for reach! I'm largely fishing for more songs to expand my Thanksgiving Playlist so the more people see this, hopefully the more suggestions I'll get. Halloween 🎃

I still love the idea of a crowded group road trip in the sub! Except now Barbara will be holding her baby child in her arms instead of her belly. 

Also, in my ideal AU of this, Penn and Martin are crammed in there as well. It’s all the makings for the best road trip comedy ever, haha :) I mean, how can you top a band of supervillains roadtripping in a cramped submarine? There could be a whole spinoff series just of this! 

Ed is just going to have to make a few more calculations...

This is so gorgeous and emotional and dramatic! I haven’t watched the Netflix finale yet--I guess I’m saving it for a little bit--but I’ll never forget all the feels I felt reading the beach scene in The End, back before “feels” was even a thing people said. This song beautifully captures all of those emotions and gives me plenty of its own. I’m pretty sure it gave me goosebumps although I admit it is also a bit chilly in here. But the emotion in the lyrics and the singer’s voice are certainly goosebump-worthy!

Also, FYI, the volume is fine on my end. It sounds lovely!

Edit: I realize now that I was using my cheap headphones when I wrote this; they’re not great headphones and so I always have to turn the volume up on things to compensate. I just didn’t realize that I wasn’t turning the volume up for this song. So, yes, the volume is indeed loud. It’s not hard to deal with though, and this is still a gorgeous song. I was listening to it on repeat at work the other day.

I think it’s best to listent to it at low volume because I still can’t use garage band properly and the volumes are wrong 

Kit and Olaf love story was my insipiration for this song, they are one of my first ship and it felt like a nice way to honor it. 

I hope you enjoy it. I’ll be posting the lyrics in a reblog so keep an eye open. also as soon as I’ll fix the volumes I’ll be putting it on band camp. 

I actually did call it, but only because I recognized him from his more recent role as dashing international art thief Pierre Despereaux in Psych, which is a pretty solid intermediate phase between Westley and Mayor Jerkface. 

I was just as surprised as you to learn that Despereaux was Westley, as I recall, back when I was first googling him. Like I think I thought he looked familiar but I couldn’t place him. (Then I ended up writing more than half of the Psych Wiki page on Despereaux but that’s another story.) 

But it was hilarious because my mom, who has also seen Psych and Princess Bride, totally thought I was wrong. I looked at the mayor and I was like “hey, that’s Despereaux” and she was like “Nah, I sort of see the resemblance but that isn’t him”. Then I looked it up and it was; it’s bloody Cary Elwes. I’m very proud of my facial recognition skills, which are frequently lacking but in this case were spot on. 

Although, to be fair, I also kept getting the mayor and the newspaper guy mixed up, to the point where I briefly thought that the mayor also ran the newspaper, and when I learned they were separate I had no idea which one was Heather’s dad, so I guess that’s 1 win and 1 loss for my facial recognition skills after all.

(Also Pierre Despereaux is the #1 best side character in Psych and if you love Westley, I highly recommend you watch Despereaux’s episodes on Psych. The first one is called Extradition: British Columbia and it’s great and you should watch it...)
