I just love all the art of these three as a family so much <3 They have their flaws, but they take care of each other. After all, even slightly murderous children get scared of monsters sometimes :)
Martin making Oswald check under the bed for monsters and Oswald checking even though it hurts his knee?
Ed’s joining in to give his opinion on the matter as a man of science!
Spring is here again and I gave myself another sharpie leg tattoo :)
There’s so much gorgeous fanart on this site. I really need to reblog more of it.
This is one of those fan artists from whom I have many works saved in my personal obsession folder and whom I’m super excited to have found and followed since making my tumblr.
Also, I love the idea of the Doctor going around and giving his companions Christmas presents :) Perhaps it all started with that red bicycle he took back to Rose when she was 12; perhaps it’s been going on much longer, because it’s fun to imagine with the classic companions as well--the Doctor dropping by Gallifrey and reluctantly leaving Leela a nice new knife, or more likely a yo-yo, and the like. (I’ve just started watching Leela’s run in the classic series and I think she’s on my top 10 list of companions, if I could possibly make such a thing.)
I love how even the ‘round thingies’ are red and green and how the lights are around the big branchy bits as if that’s the tree. It’s really just such a gorgeous art style, and I love seeing what the Doctor’s up to in his holiday downtime :)
I humbly beg forgiveness for the lateness of this. I had no idea when I signed up for the @dwsecretsanta gift exchange that a month later I would be offered a shiny new job that would swallow all my time. I am so very sorry about that.
This is for @nightfellart , a very TARDIS Christmas with Ten, enjoying a mug of creamy cocoa, en route to deliver gifts to his companions in time and space. I hope you had a very nice holiday this year!
Anyways I saw the new movie and I do indeed have a great many feelings...
But for now, have these cute vintage Star Wars Christmas Cards. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!

My gosh this is super fun. I went and looked up Rex Velvet, too, and his videos are hilarious. Like you said, he doesn’t seem to have done anything truly villainous, at least not in an illegal sense, but he seems to have distributed these “Superheroes not welcome” posters. It’s interesting that he seems to be pro-police, actually, so he’s not nessecarily promoting villainy, just denouncing vigilantism (and brandishing weapons in a vaguely threatening manner, but other than that).
But yeah, the videos turn out to be sketches more than anything, but it’s still really fun. It’s hilarious how he keeps calling Phoenix Jones and crew nerds when he appears to be out-nerding them by leaps and bounds. I mean, he’s sitting there straight up drinking Firewhiskey, and apparently he has a DeLorean? He’s a ridiculous nerd and I love him, even if I don’t nessecarily agree with his anti-vigilante stance. (I mean, there’s pros and cons. We can discuss the legal/functional implications of vigilantism another time.) Anyways he’s also thrown a super swag villain party and he has cat-minions, so.
(This is his intro video with the firewhiskey, his anti-Phoenix Jones premise, and his vaguely threatening weapon brandishing. This one introduces his anti-superhero poster campaign, also featuring the DeLorean. Here is the sketch with his totally not photoshopped cat minions (that might be spoilers, sorry), which is probably the funniest of all of these, and here is his villain party, with some villains who are more swag than certain others.)
Also there were links in the comments section of the first video to more articles about Phoenix. I started reading this interview and it was quite interesting--it explains how he chose his name, for example: “Phoenix is my son's name, and Jones is the most common last name in America, so I did it for my son and for the common person.” But then I got distracted by Rex’s nerd-swag villainy and I didn’t finish reading the article. Phoenix seems really cool, too, though.
Washington State (not DC) is the only state in the union where you can legally have a fistfight with somebody (with police as referees) to settle your differences
No hate to Star Wars, but Earth is a really awesome planet and this is a super cool post! :)
Oh, and speaking of pink lakes, this reminds me of Lake Hillier in Australia (image source: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/lake-hillier)
And also, I know people get all excited about Hoia Baciu forest because it’s supposedly haunted and an alien sighting hotspot or whatever, but just aesthetically, I think the curvy trees would be a neat look for a far-off planet. (image source: https://www.dreadcentral.com/news/109706/hoia-baciu-forest-beyond-the-legend-explores-one-of-transylvanias-greatest-mysteries/)

And speaking of funky looking forests, did I mention the rainbow eucalyptus forest in the Philippines? (image source: https://matadornetwork.com/trips/75-places-so-colorful-its-hard-to-believe-theyre-real-pics/)
(image source: https://www.elitereaders.com/rainbow-eucalyptus-tree-philippines/) (*note: I have not read or verified image sources; these are just from whence I got the pictures.)
Yeah, sci fi in general could do well to take more advantage of these things. Like, I know filming in quarries is a time-honored Doctor Who tradition, and I’m not suggesting an end to that. Welsh quarries are neat, too :) But the world is full of a great many fantastic sights.
why are star wars planets more boring than earth and our solar system like sure we’ve seen desert, snow, diff types of forest, beach, lava, rain, but like…
rainbow mountains (peru)
red soil (canada/PEI)
rings (saturn’s if they were on earth)
bioluminescent waves
northern lights (canada)
salt flats (bolivia, where they filmed crait but did NOTHING COOL WITH IT except red dust?? like??? come ON)
and cool fauna like the touch me not or like, you know, the venus flytrap.. and don’t get me started on BUGS like… we have bugs cooler than sw aliens
BASICALLY like???? come on star wars you had one (1) job where are the cool alien species
Here you go friend. Enjoy :)
SOMEONE FIND ME THE HOW MANY NIMONS SCENE CAUSE I CAN’T FIND IT PLEASE AND THANK
Putting on eyeliner this morning for the My Chemical Romance concert and thinking about how many other fans might also be doing this at the same time; thinking about how many fans have done their eyeliner for a show over the years in the past. Thinking about Gerard doing his own eyeliner. Achieving spiritual union with the MCR fandom through slightly messy eyeliner.
This is the pinnacle of art.
I mean, it spans the full range of emotion. Mystery and curiosity, struggle and anger, generosity and adorableness, it has it all. And what greater art is there than cats?
