Old Friend
Hopping on that "crowley and jesus were rlly good friends" train
Good Omens fr made me draw Jesus willingly
You guys can tell that I have a favorite character I'm assuming (she's consumed everything)
Here's some extra doodles of them where they're roommates in s3
Stately as a swan, lanky as a spider, the Lieutenant sweeps through the darkness. Coat billowing around him, trailing after him. In the swaths of shadows he’s a moonlit moth, pale and fluttering and paper-delicate. In one long-fingered, white-gloved hand he holds a long black cigarette, which at the end glows a deep, heart’s-blood-red. The ribbon of smoke, tinged neon from the screens of the room, tangles around him. The ribbon whirls and disperses in the wake of his purposeful, crooked march.
He prowls over the control room floor like the floor owes him money. Grinding glossy tiles beneath ghostly pale heels.
Gi-hun’s coat and pants are a perfect pearly white, with just the barest touch of soft cloud-gray to temper the purity. The faintest of silvery tarnish, so light you’d never know it’s not truly stark.
But In-ho knows.
-_-_-
Chapter 9 is up! I'll do an aesthetic board later... I gotta work tomorrow and I should really sleep lol
I just finished reading it and omg I LOVE IT AHHHHHHHHHH IT’S SO SILLY I WAS GIGGLING LIKE CRAZY UGHHHHHHHH EVERYONE GO READ THIS ITS SO PEAK!!!
the irony of in-ho having fish as pets and gi-hun being a cat person is so funny to me. especially when it's canon.
457 (crack) fic where in-ho and gi-hun fought because gi-hun's cat ate in-ho's fish 😭
someone smarter than me who knows more abt psychology needs to write abt gi-hun and the learned helplessness that the games instilled in him. i find the last episode of s1 so interesting bc i KNOW that pre-games gi-hun would've gone down to the street and helped out that homeless guy himself. bc pre-games gi-hun, despite his many flaws, was proactive and impulsive and deeply caring towards others. but post-games gi-hun just stays put and waits for someone else to do help the guy. bc the games taught him that even when he tries to help people, he won't succeed. and that trying to help people never works. i don't think it's something he would consciously believe but it got ingrained in him on a subconscious level.
i think by s2 he's started to find his will and strength to help others again, as evidenced by him trying so hard to end the games and by him helping that one eliminated player in red light green light. but i'm worried that him standing up and starting a rebellion only to watch his best friend die is gonna put him right back in that mindset of believing that he can't (and shouldn't) do anything or help anyone.
i also think it's so interesting how even though he has such a distaste for the games, he still mostly follows the rules. even the rebellion itself could be seen as part of the game. but i'm mostly thinking about how he could have saved that homeless man, or how he could have refused to play russian roulette with the recruiter, but he didn't. he thinks he proved il-nam wrong, but in a way he just proved him right by standing so high above that man on the verge of death, literally betting on whether he'd live or not while doing nothing to help him. he was a vip in that moment and he didn't even realise it
HELL YEAH INHO AND JUNGBAE BEING FRIENDS CONTENT LETS GOOOOO IM BEING FEDDDDD
they're friends tho I swear
oh my liege i like this one a lot i think
if you are a dumb gentile (i'm especially looking at you, dumb, white American gentiles) and your first response to the I/P conflict is to harass Neil Gaiman, Taika Waititi, and other well-known Jews online
you are not in any way helping Palestinians
all you are doing is exposing yourself as a lazy, Jew-hating antisemite
you are putting Jews around the world (especially Jews in Europe and the US) in danger of white supremacist attacks
if you actually cared about the Palestinian people, you would put your money where your mouth is and donate to organizations and charities that help the Palestinian people

Palestine Children's Relief Fund
Doctors Without Borders
now shut your fucking mouths, stop posting hateful antisemitic shit on social media, and go donate, you motherfuckers.
everyday I remember that sangwoo is not buried properly and was probably burned like the rest of the dead players,
everyday I remember that saebyeok is not buried properly and was probably burned like the rest of the dead players,
And everyday I remember that gihun can’t go to their graves and grieve them because they don’t have proper burials, no flowers no candles.
gihun, youre so strong, ily 😪😪
Rewatched s1e1 of Squid Game today, and was reminded that Gi-hun initially went into the games for Ga-yeong, and not for his mother. He went because she was moving to America, and his mum had said that when she did, Ga-yeong would forget all her Korean, and she and Gi-hun would become strangers who couldn't communicate. But, if he could prove he could support her, he might be able to get her back. Can you really live without her?
And this makes it so much more tragic that, post-victory, he literally couldn't bring himself to spend his money and go and live with her.
It's such a fascinating window into his character that even this, even his initial reason for entering the games, which would benefit not only him but his daughter too, he ultimately deemed to be less important than even the slimmest chance of stopping the games.
It is both breathtakingly selfless (his wants don't matter if he can't save people) and breathtakingly selfish at the same time (he'd rather take a chance on making a big change rather than take a smaller action that would definitely be positive) and LORD his characterisation is just absolutely impeccable.
Heart of gold x gambling addict my beloved.
Totally wasn’t reading this on the subway or anything-
