On April 16th 2025 The US Federal Government Has Proposed To Change The Interpretation Of The Endangered

On April 16th 2025 the US federal government has proposed to change the interpretation of the endangered species act so that it no longer protects habitat.

This is open for public comment until the end of May 19th. Please comment and make your voice heard.

Wildlife need their habitat. If the ESA redefines harm so that habitat is no longer protected, the implications for wildlife would be catastrophic.

If anyone is more interested in the work behind the Gävle goat there is apparently a documentary here, unfortunately mostly in swedish, but what I found most charming is that you can climb into the goat through a door in it's behind.

And if you ever wondered: yes, according to rumors a couple have fucked in the Gävle goat. In 1966 in fact, the first year it was up and before any kind of arson. I don't know why they threw that into the documentary but this goat has layers is all I'm saying.

Cool, thanks!!

Sorry if this is a question you have answered before, but what versions/adaptations of the Arthurian legend would you recommend? My main entry point has been The Sword and the Stone (both book and movie) and The Darkness is Rising, and I'd love to explore others.

hi!! I'll link a response to a previous similar question here but i generally recommend reading more medieval texts i think to get a better feel for arthuriana as a whole! so you can understand where adaptations are going with the medieval stories they're based on. sir gawain and the green knight is a nice and easy place to start w medieval lit if you're looking for a story that's not too complicated and hard to follow. it's kind of fun i think. knight of the cart (by chretien de troyes) is also fun. le morte d'arthur (thomas malory) is kind of one of the most famous medieval king arthur texts comprising a lot of the big adventures of him and his knights etc but i personally find it very very hard to get through chronologically (and it kind of works fine to hop around generally). actually if you would like an adapted version of it that's a little more readable and easy to follow i'm reading john steinbeck's version right now (the acts of king arthur and his noble knights) and it is seriously such a blast. very fun and i am just such a steinbeck fan so i love his writing. he never finished it but he adapted a good chunk of le morte and it is just an absolute delight to read. highly recommend :) but anyway there's no wrong way to get into arthuriana so these are some jumping points but follow ur heart. hope this helps!

tbh I can't stop thinking about how i went into Hadestown being like "this is a tragic love story based on a greek myth I enjoy :)" and I came out the other side covered in blood being like "this is a thesis about how capitalism inevitably leads to both personal and global ruin, and so we are duty bound to resist it even as we lose, again and again and again. no matter how impossible it feels or how many times we fail and hit a wall and fall, we try again"

it fucking sucks being a disabled person who can't work and having to see these fuckass posts where someone's like "ahaha jobless people have no life and that's why everyone shitty online has No Job" and everyone and their mother reblogs it joyfully onto my dash for me to see. yes unemployed and unemployable people are truly without exception dogshit people with no hobbies and no redeeming qualities. you're so right. anyway if you'll excuse me i have to start my shift at the I'll Never Be Employed Because Of Permanent Disability And I Love Knowing How You Really See Me store

There were so many times in high school where the other girls around me would start talking about how they'd gone a few weeks without shaving and now their legs were gross and hairy. While I was right there, with noticeably hairier legs than anyone there. I've never shaved or wanted to, but moments like that really stung and successfully made me feel completely disgusting.

This is why we need feminism. This is why we need people celebrating hair on women's bodies.

I think its really funny when people get mad at the pro-hairy pussy posts on this site (yes including posts hating on bald pussy) and take an angle of “wow everyone is being so weird about shaving now and its so wrong to judge peoples choices like this” because like. Okay. Either you dont fuck or go outside, or you have been doing whats expected of you so long you have no idea how people who dont make the same choice as you are mistreated. Because so many people ESPECIALLY MEN are still convinced simply having body hair is unhygienic and will shame and dehumanize anyone who has it in the most vile and unnecessary way. Like youre seeing so many of these vehement bush or die posts BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE PUSHING BACK AGAINST THAT NOTION its not happening in a vacuum but once again tumblr users are out of touch with what actually happens on planet earth

If you like shaving: congrats, there are millions of people who would not accept you any other way

biggest mindfuck is the fact that it can be so so difficult to tell the difference between when it's time for "do it bored/scared/stupid but by jove just do it" and when it's time for "if it sucks hit the bricks"

Calvin's parents decide to take a Hawai'ian vacation. They're not sure how much of it their son will tolerate but they would like to do at least a few things that involve sandy beaches and scenic cycling routes. They are therefore pleased when Calvin seems to make friends with a local girl about his own age and the two of them run off to play

Now, from Calvin's point of view what has happened is that he spotted actual aliens, and starts trying to bring this to the attention if the adults. But the tourists are like, "that's nice, go shoot 'em with your water gun, have a good time," and the locals are like, "yeah, they're an older couple who decided to retire here. Happens all the time." Eventually, it becomes clear that Spaceman Spiff is going to have to handle it himself.

From Lilo's point of view, Jumba and Pleakley are her gay uncles, do you mind? Calvin does mind, and so the two of them spend the rest of the afternoon terrorizing Kaua'i in the effort to destroy one another while the aliens alternate between bailing them out of trouble and attempting to escape.

Hobbes and Stitch, meanwhile, are calmly playing checkers and drinking non-alcoholic margaritas.
