get some freedom
(she/her for central character)
I was really indecisive about the bg in this one so there's two versions... tbh visually I prefer this one but I think the black bg and red text makes more sense for the context of the image. feels scarier.
talking, what's it good for?
big birthday piece for my buddy mer @myrmica!!! merthday? sure let's go with that. he's managed to get me into lifesteal and while I may not have gotten to these two yet I'm fascinated by whatever they have going on based on the analysis I've heard...
the rituals. they're intricate
thought EV should have line stickers but this is the only one I came up with because it made me laugh really hard. this will be funny to you guys in a few years
hey did you guys know its the pines twins’ 23rd birthday today? I had no idea.
anyway, here’s a thing I’ve been working on for a while. This was originally supposed to be for the show’s 10th anniversary back in June, but I definitely didn’t anticipate how long it’d take and had to push it back to the end of August. It feels like an appropriate way to send off the summer :]
ps: as per gf tradition, there’s a hidden message along the first 10 pages
stay weird etc etc
vicarious
some supplementary notes since this is an oc piece (you can learn a little more about Escape Velocity in my oc tag for now until I figure out a better way to organize it), I can't say too much without giving everything away but these three's conjoined story arcs are some of my favorite in the entire comic. wanted to draw something vague that might... make more sense later... I was listening to paparazzi while drawing a good chunk of this I'll be honest
anyway. I did draw the rest of this guy but 90% of his pose was blocked by gills and nora in the foreground...
I almost wish I didn't save him though. he looks too pleased about it
chapter 4!! it's done!!! yay!!! [collapses in a heap]
alright so this was a somewhat indulgent one I admit but I've always really liked 1. viewing stories through a transgender lens and 2. the idea that fiddleford was the one who gave ford his iconic coat, which makes it particularly sweet (and agonizing) to think about him wearing it for 30+ years... and uh, hopefully washing it once in a while
updates are every first friday of the month, make sure to view as intended on Ad Astra Per Aspera's neocities page!!
