The cruelty of the universe

Ya wanna know what's really cruel? All I wish for is the mundane parts of a relationship, ya know hand holding and cuddles. All of the tooth rotting fluff. And I have this amazing relationship with my best friend and we would be an amazing power couple- as we have spoken of before- yet the universe decides to play this truly cruel trick on us and all we feel is absolutely platonic.
