Imagine telling Alastor Moody that you can't have children.

You confessed your love to Alastor some weeks ago. And even if he felt the same, he couldn't imagine starting a relationship with you.

You were too young for an old man like him, you deserved better, he thought. He tried to tell you that, but you didn't care. You loved him and wanted to be with him.

Today, it was the same argument as every other one since your confession. But this time, Alastor found something that really might change your mind.

"There's one thing I really can't give you."

" And what's that, Alastor? Diamonds, gold ?" You retorted, sarcastic.

"A child"

This time you truly went silent. You didn't want to, but your face took a saddening look. Alastor hated him for that, and even more when you answer him.

"I can't have children anyway."

"Why are you saying that? Maybe you don't want one now but one day..."

"No you don't understand. I can't. My body... It can't"

Tears appeared in your eyes, and he came closer to take you in his arms.

"I'm sorry love... It's a tough thing"

Alastor stroked your hairs. You let some tears run down your cheeks, your face buried in his chest.

"I'm born like that... I'm born broken Alastor... I don't know many people who would like to be with someone like that, like me. I can't give children to the person I love. I will never know this happiness..."

Alastor understood. The thoughts and the feelings of being broken, not enough, not loveable for your imperfections. And the pain that resulted from it.

" I'm a failure. No one one want a failure..."

Even if he understood your pain, he couldn't hear you devalue yourself. For such a trivial thing than children.

"I can't imagine greater happiness than being with you. You'll find the person made for you one day, I promise."

"I found it. But he push me away..."

Alastor didn't answer you and just continued to stoke your hairs.

"I understand your thoughts you know? Just... Please hold me just today..."

Yes, he couldn't be with you. But today he can let himself comfort you. You needed him, how could he ever deny it to you ?
