The Gate of Athena Archegetis, Roman Agora of Athens, Greece
- Towards to Autumn Equinox, when military campaigns ended, in Athens there were Genesias (a.k.a. Nemesia): funeral festivals where they honored their ancestors, specially the ones dead in battle.
- During the day, they offered sacrifices to Gea with public worship, while in private they went to family graves to clean them and tell about the ones who there was not anymore. At the end, to their own ancestors, they offered vases full of (olive) oil.
- This festival is well suited to the feeling that permeated ancestors worship: when Nature started its own descent in Underworld, social and spiritual actions would reflected it too.

Rebirth of the god Ennead ch. 1 ~ Ennead ch. 73
do you have any tips for anatomy?? the way you draw bodies flows so well and looks so natural, but its also really detailed!!
Thank you!!! There is too much to say on the matter so I summarised some basics. The best way to learn is to draw nudes (looooots of nudes), but I hope those tips make the process easier ~

hewwo my new obsession
Because I didn't actually answer anon's question last time, here are some cheat sheets on how I approach body proportions when I draw.
Typical adult body proportion is eight (8) "heads" (but I think anywhere from 7 to 8 is okay). Below chart notes where each "head" ends in terms of body part:
Another proportion method is 1/3 from top of head to natural waist (just above bellybutton), 1/3 from there to top of knees, and last 1/3 to heel of foot:
The "balls" are joints (shoulder, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles) as well as the stomach as a central "joint" for the torso:
Remember that perspective also impacts your drawing! Eg. The figure here has one foot slightly behind the other so her heels don't line up to the bottom guideline.
In my unprofessional and untrained opinion, these are not hard rules, just guidelines as you develop your own style and eye for anatomy (but it's helpful to know what the rules are before you get too cute in "breaking" them).
✨ Happy drawing! ✨
