Poor Laurel's tail has gone astray. This is his appearance with his tail.
I'm seeing a lot more posts of people getting excited about Jinshi manhandling MaoMao, from the blatant sexual position in the frog scene to the way the touches her face and shoves honey into her mouth and that one kiss on the neck.
Some are happy and delving into how this or that part of the interaction is indicating their true feelings and how Jinshi is wearing down Maomao to understanding she likes him too.
Some are unhappy and saying it's noncon and uncomfortable and Jinshi is being a bad guy overstepping and wielding his authority to take advantage.
Personally, I think both are true in their own way and false in their own way, but more importantly: Jinshi's actions are interesting as a look into his psyche.
I definitely don't think Jinshi has any ill-intent toward Maomao. He likes her and is pulling pigtails essentially, but he ISN'T actually pulling pigtails. He's shoving his honey covered fingers in her mouth and making overly sexual bedroom eyes to distract her from him sneaking a snack off her plate. He's also very much backing off whenever Maomao signals a no and doesn't repeat things that have clearly made her uncomfortable and their relationship is slowly improving as a result.
Jinshi is a guy who, from quite a young age, has been tasked to pretend to be a eunuch and dangle himself in front of the royal harem to test their loyalty to the emperor they serve and weed out those who are willing to stray.
Jinshi is a guy who, during his formative years was suppressed and denied all his wants, then exactly when he's going into puberty was given sex-suppressing drugs to pretend to be a eunuch and told to be flamboyantly appealing to women.
Jinshi is a guy who's been encouraged and given success and praised for being overly sexual in a way he may or may not actually be comfortable with at all, while also being forced to have all proper appearance of being not sexual at all.
Jinshi is a guy who has been placed in charge of the royal harem, and in doing so has been basically given the duties of his brother-father's WIFE in managing his sexual affairs behind closed doors until he actually marries.
Jinshi has ISSUES.
He doesn't, actually, know how to act with a person he likes. Not as a friend who isn't a caretaker and definitely not as a lover. He's working his way through that with his relationship with Maomao (friendship first) - and she's actually the perfect person to go through this with because she was also raised in a ridiculously sexual environment she embraced from necessity but never actually wanted to join and is able to shake off his missteps. She's constantly aware of the power dynamic and of how he's permissive and listens to her and threads the needle of scolding/correcting him the right way and at the right times and with the right audience so he can understand without him losing face. And he tolerates and respects her in a way he does no one else.
I think this awkward period for them is actually vital for any future romance to work.
They're each personally, individually coming out of a shell made of their neglectful and simultaneously over and under sexual upbringing and present with each other's help, and when they finally get there they'll understand each other better than anyone else can.
It's like WWE in that bitch 😭
What does this mean? It means, if you buy an ebook from Amazon and you want to use a different ereader, you will not be able to download the file onto your computer, remove its DRM using Calibre, and transfer the book to any device of your choice. After February 26, you’ll be locked to Amazon’s ecosystem indefinitely. Books will only be transferable between Amazon devices and apps. You do not own the ebooks you buy. Amazon can (and has) remove ebooks from your library.
Download them now and use the Calibre to remove the DRM. I highly suggest buying ebooks from other places from now on. Links to resources below.

If you’re like me, you have a kindle and you’re not financially in the position to buy a new $130 ereader from a different brand. So what are you to do? The best thing you can do is use Libby/Overdrive. It’s very simple. The Libby app has an option to link your Amazon account to the app and so when you borrow a book from your library, it’ll automatically go to your kindle.
You can also sideload books onto your kindle if the file is compatible and DRM free. Here’s an article listing DRM free book sources.
Now this is where things get tricky. Most indie authors make the bulk of their sales on Amazon. It’s awful, but that’s the nature of the beast. Use your own discretion when buying indie books from Amazon. Check and see if that author sells their books on other platforms or buy their book physically (if the option is available) so that you actually own the book you buy.

Hello! This is my clangen blog TwilightClan! I didn't know if I wanted to start this because I'm too scared to put my drawings online but then I saw other people doing clangen blogs without drawing so I was inspired to make one! This is a lifegen blog and the readers will be the ones who decide what the main character does! So please stop by!

Yeah I think people were over exaggerating, the chapter they ended on was pretty sweet and the only thing I don't like is sunbeam being pregnant because they said they were going to wait.
why are we pretending that the final chapter of star was just ‘and nightheart isn’t orange’ like are you guys exaggerating to be funny or do you legitimately hate nightheart that much it’s affected your ability to read the book lmao
it’s such a short chapter too, the message isn’t that hard to understand. legacy naming in warrior cats has always been a huge thing, especially for thunderclan cats. both litters of kits currently in the nursery right now are all legacy named after other cats. an entire generation of cats have been named after dead clan mates, and they’re not even the first!!
finchlight is teasing nightheart about whether or not he should also participate in legacy naming with his and sunbeam’s litter. instead of thinking too hard about the teasing, he dismisses it quite casually, no longer upset by comparisons and being named after ancestors but amused by the situation. a clear sign of how much he’s grown.
what he’s really focused on in that moment, is what sunbeam wants. he’s worried when sparkpelt brings up the idea of naming one of their kits after berryheart. he doesn’t push her, doesn’t give his opinion on the subject, just supports her when she decides she doesn’t want to name her kits before they’re born. they’ve both decided to name their kits as a reflection of who they are, not for the sake of remembering other cats.
nightheart has grown into a selfless, mature cat capable of looking back on his past actions and beliefs with amusement and bewilderment that he ever acted that way or believed those things. he loves his wife, he loves his family, he’s proud of his heritage, and he finally feels confident in himself and his own abilities, no longer feeling like he has to live up to any expectations.
…….what part of that is just ‘nightheart isn’t orange’ to you????????
yeah i'm mad
