This story takes place during the summer before their sixth year and the two haven’t gotten together yet.

Alice was laying on James’ bed at his house near the burrow, James lying next to her. They were talking about their sixth year, and everything that would happen during it. 

“You know, I’m pretty sure that Dom’s dating Frank.” Alice said lightly, the slightest bit of hurt in her voice. 

“I don’t think so. Frank would definetly tell you if he was dating someone.” James replied, lifting his head so he could see her better. 

“I probably wouldn’t tel Frank if I was dating someone.” Alice said, lifting her head so that their heads were level with each other. 

“Really?” James lifted his eyebrows, an unconvinced smile gracing his lips. 

“Yes, in fact I am quite rebellious.” 

“Yes, the rebellious little Hufflepuff.” James laughed, making Alice’s stomach flutter. 

“I do do dangerous things that no one expects me to do.” Alice said, accusingly. 

“Okay, do one dangerous thing that no one would expect you to do.” James said, still laughing.

“Fine then.” She grabbed James by the front of his shirt, and kissed him hard on the mouth, shutting him up.

He cupped her face, as did Alice, and the kiss continued, growing deeper by the minute. James, surprisingly, pulled away first, breathing hard. “Where the bloody hell did that come from?” 

“Oh, I’ve been wanting to do that for a while.” Alice smiled, her hands still resting on James’ cheeks, and her forehead resting against his. 

“Really?” 

“Of course, Mr. Potter.” 

“Well, that’s good because the feeling’s mutual.” James whispered, before going back in for another kiss. 

Alice laid on the bed, James on top of her, running her hands through his hair. Their kiss was shortlived, because from downstairs Ginny Weasley yelled, “James! Alice! Dinner’s ready!” 

James broke the kiss, and sighed, sitting up. “We’ll have to continue this after dinner.” 

They headed downstairs, acting as if they hadn’t just confessed their feelings towards each other, and sat at the dining table.

“I know you’re a vegan, Alice, so this is a meatless, eggless, milkless, chickenless, and seafoodless meal.” Ginny said to Alice, who smiled and laughed.

They ate their meal in peace, Alice and James sitting closer than normal, but nobody noticed. Afterward, the two went upstairs, both saying they were getting ready for bed. 

They entered James’ room, closing and locking the door, and stared at each other for a moment, before James approached her and cupped her cheek gently, kissing her softly. 

This was the start of a woonderful relationship.

Not to be a loser or whatever but saying Astrid is "the man in the relationship" in Hiccstrid is wildly misogynistic and misandrist all at the same time. Enforcing rigid gender roles to pretend you're NOT enforcing gender roles is fucking weird.

Hiccup is a man, he is The Man in the relationship. All of him is masculine because he is a man, he identifies as a man, he (we can assume) has male biology, and everyone around him accepts him as male.

Acting like Hiccup is somehow "weak" or "submissive" or "effeminate" just because he's thin and has a gentler personality then Astrid walks back what Feminists have been struggling to explain for years.

Astrid is a woman, she is The Woman in the relationship. All of her is feminine because she is a woman, she identifies as a woman, she (we can assume) has female biology, and everyone around her accepts her as female.

Acting like Astrid is "dominating" or "masculine" or "stronger" just because she's a better warrior and has a more aggressive personality then Hiccup is

Personality traits and physical attributes do not dictate what makes you a man or a woman, it's how you FEEL and how you accept yourself. If you are a man thats gentle and compassionate, empathetic and patient- then you ARE JUST A MAN WHO IS GENTLE AND COMPASSIONATE AND EMPATHETIC AND PATIENT.

WOMEN ARE STILL WOMEN IF THEY'RE PHYSICALLY STRONG OR THEY'RE AGGRESSIVE OR THEY'RE SMART.

We deserve a rotpl beach episode actually so here are some headcanons:

Jane has a hot pink one piece that Nancy sewed the Pink Ladies logo

Olivia wears one of those fancy little transparent robe things and it’s pink (obviously)

Nancy made her own swimsuit

Cynthia wears swim trunks she stole from Gil (that are from when he was 13) and a swim top with the Pink Ladies logo on it that Nancy made for her

Hazels swimsuit has constellations on it

They have a Pink Ladies vs. T-Birds volleyball battle and Nancy is surprisingly good at it

Richie falls asleep so Olivia and Cynthia bury him in sand

Potato pours water on Nancys head (only after he makes sure she won’t kill him for messing up her hair)

Hazel invites Wally

Jane invites Buddy and he spends half the day trying not to get splashed by Cynthia and Olivia

Gil brought sandwiches and hot dogs

Wally shows Hazel how to surf

Jane loves volleyball even though she keeps getting hit in the face

Edward makes sand castles the whole day

Cynthia enlists Nancy and Potato’s help to dig a giant hole

Cynthia is Short so she keeps getting bodied by waves

Hazel and Olivia both brought books so whenever they get tired of swimming they just sit together and read

Buddy can hold his breath for a long time so sometimes he’ll just disappear for about 4 or 5 minutes before resurfacing with like a shell or something

Wally makes Cynthia jealous because she wants to know how to surf so bad but would rather die than ask him to teach her

When the Pinks showed up Richie and Gil were just staring at Jane and Olivia absolutely starstruck

Richie insists he can surf

He can not

Gil loves competing when it comes to water stuff (who can hold their breath longer, who can swim faster)

So does Buddy so the two of them just end up betting each other over and over again

Cynthia and Edward play chicken against Richie and Gil
