Omg,,,,,this is me
I GOT AN IDEA! For headcanons! How about, reader is an artist and she draws A LOT! Like, she's so endorsed that she forgets to eat or drink water and Levi always prepares her snacks and things she loves and takes care of her! Reminds her to hydrate, cooks for her, gives her eyedrops so her eyes don't wither and die phahaha and sometimes even snatches away her iPad or canvas and threatens her to go take a break. He also gives rubs and massages because her back and shoulders are killing her đ
v cute prompt, sweet friend!! and here is to all my queens and kings who are dedicated to their craft!!!Â
Levi is.......a hypocrite lmfaoÂ
Sometimes he gets legitimately frustrated that you get so engrossed in what youâre working onÂ
He doesnât understand that you are an Artisteâ˘ď¸ and have things that need to tumble out of your brain right now immediately
Even if it is 12:45am and you were about to go to bedÂ
Even though he does literally the same thing
Has the audacity to ask, âCanât it wait until tomorrow?âÂ
Um no
You always hit him back with the, âWhen has your work ever waited until tomorrow?âÂ
He starts to understand and inwardly really admires how much dedication you have towards all your creative projects
You obviously really love doing it and he thinks thatâs amazingÂ
So who is he to squash that passion?Â
And the more Levi thinks about it, the more he realizes you already thought that about his working habits and his hobbies
How many times have you graciously let him roll out of bed to go work on something?Â
How many times have you encouraged him when he felt a little down/inadequate regarding his own stuff?Â
So he starts really getting invested in your stuffÂ
Always asks you how your latest project is goingÂ
Doesnât press to see it until you feel comfortable showing him your progress
Levi even shares his workspace with you, and is only slightly miffed about the added clutter lmfaoÂ
And is a very considerate boi and knocks every time before he comes in so he doesnât startle you or accidentally walk in on a project you donât feel comfortable showing him yet
Levi is the type to come knocking just to bring snacks!!Â
If youâve been in there for hours, it doesnât even surprise him anymore
He just looks at the clock and goes, âHmm...probably wants a snack nowâ
Youâve done that for him so many times and he really appreciates it, so he wants to return the favor tenfoldÂ
Heâs super observant about what types of snacks âhelpâ youÂ
Like, your favorite fruit will get you goingÂ
But a cinnamon roll or something super super sweet? Never againÂ
He's learned from his mistakes on snack choices
Above all, Levi is all about hydrationÂ
Hydration KingÂ
Truth be told, he still gets a little annoyed that youâll just be out of commission for hours and so heâll find excuses to just aggressively knock, stomp inside, and slam down some water lmfaoÂ
âLevi I just had a full glass of water like an hour ago, Iâm fineâÂ
âYou think that was an hour ago? It was almost three hours ago, drink some goddamn waterâÂ
Most of the time, youâre completely right and heâs severely bending the truth, but again, heâs making excuses to come and just be around you for a secondÂ
Mostly to make sure youâre alive, but also to get some more updates on what youâre working onÂ
But again, mostly to make sure youâre alive
And, while you are getting better at it, you still tend to just lose yourself in what youâre doing and can be away for hours and hours and hoursÂ
Sometimes pulling all-nighters (like Levi)
But those are the times he says âfuck thatâ and will actively rip out your stuff from out of your hands lmaoÂ
Absolutely will insist on you taking a break
Especially with him
Would never admit that he misses you sometimes but he absolutely does
He knows you have your limits and itâs for your own goodÂ
You do it to him too and he knows he does find it helpful, so itâs only fair he is mindful of how youâre doing and how youâre spending your time
Even if it does take you out of your âmojoâ, you do appreciate it
Especially when you get those very coveted Levi Massages
Levi IS the supreme masseuseÂ
Youâd think he may be a little too rough, but heâs actually surprisingly good at massagesÂ
Especially shoulder massages
The neck he still sometimes squeezes a little too hard lmfaoÂ
But the shoulders? Divine touchÂ
You choose to ignore him scolding you for your posture every time while he massages your shouldersÂ
Because hell, if he keeps massaging you like this, you might as well keep up the bad posture lmaooo
Makes you promise him youâll be done soon or else he will come back with a vengeanceÂ

âYou said babysitter, I get a babysitter, problem solved!â Alexei exclaimed. The girl pinched the skin between her eyebrows, taking a few breaths before turning back to Alexei.Â
âI didnât mean an actual babysitter! I meant a trained professional! Or at least someone with a background check.â
This had been going on for about 5 minutes, ever since youâd arrived at the penthouse of the rebranded Avengerâs Tower.Â
âLook, thereâs clearly been a misunderstanding here. I can just, you know, leave,â you shrugged to the elevator, slowly picking your bag back up to leave.Â
âNo, no! You donât leave. Just wait here,â Alexei insisted. You put your bag back on the floor, unsure of what to do next.Â
You shouldâve known as soon as the man contacted you through the Sitters NYC app that it was a bust. Who even has kids that need sitting in a place like this? You could still go back to Mrs. Lowinski, go back to cat-sitting the womanâs 17 Sphynx cats. But the lingering cat smell⌠Not to mention the fact that naked cats get their skin oils everywhere... Noâ this was a safe bet.Â
The duo argued some more before the girl, Lena?, turned to you with a sympathetic smile. âIâm sure youâre very nice and that my father offered you good money, but we had a bit of miscommunication about how to solve a problem. Iâm really sorry.âÂ
âItâs okay, really. Thanks for the generous offer, anyway, Alexei,â you thanked the man with a thin smile, once again picking up your damn bag and heading for the elevator.Â
Alexei yelled after you again to wait, but it was clear the man wouldnât get his way, unfortunately for you. You gave him a sad wave and pressed the button for the elevator. As the doors opened, someone was about to step out when you were about to step inside. You did the awkward side-shuffle to get out of each other's way before he laughed and let you go first. You turned to stand facing the doors and caught a last glimpse of the manâs unruly brown hair before they closed.
âś
âWho was that?â Bob asked as the doors closed.Â
âYour babysitter, if it was up to Alexei. Weâre trying to find a reliable person who can stay here with you when we go out on missions, but Alexei took it upon himself to get an actual babysitter. For kids. Or cats. Or birds, apparently,â Yelena sighed.Â
âYou ask for trained professional with background check. We donât even pass background check!â Alexei shouted. He did have a point, there.Â
Bob was about to argue he didnât need a babysitter, but he probably actually did. He couldnât be left alone with his thoughts for too long, or heâd spiral real fast. Not good.Â
âI mean, besides the company I really donât think I need someone with much experience or training,â he shrugged.Â
âSee! Bob agrees. Sitter is sitter,â Alexei grumbled.Â
âWeâll talk about this over dinner with the rest of the team,â Yelena spoke, and it was the final word.Â
âś
You walked out of the grocery store enlightened. Thatâs where youâd seen the father-daughter duo before. The Wheaties box. They were part of the so-called âNew Avengersâ. It had been a few months since The Blackout, but you remembered it well. One second youâd been filling the 17 food bowls in Mrs. Lowinskiâs kitchen, the next you were back in your childhood home.
You unlocked the front door and loaded your groceries in the cabinets and fridge. You sighed as you sat down on the couch, ready to call Mrs. Lowinski for your job back and to get back on Sitters NYC for more part-time work you could combine with your online classes.
Manhattan - Full-time 3 Children, aged 4, 6 & 9
Brooklyn - Part-time 4 Dogs
Queens - Au Pair 2 Children, aged 5 & 7 1 Cat
Manhattan - Part-time 3 Birds 1 Dog
Manhattan - Part-time 1 Child, age UNDISCLOSED
Ah, Alexei hadnât taken the ad down yet. Heâd been so nice, too. From what heâd described, you figured it was an older child, possibly a teenager, even, who needed someone to spend some time with every now and then. Not allowed to go out by themselves too much, irregular schedule, possible overnight stays. Nothing you couldnât handle. Too bad it had been a misunderstanding.Â
You walked into the kitchen and got ready to prepare dinner for one, again. One day you might put yourself out there. âFind someone real nice to take care of you,â as Mrs. Lowinski had insisted. God, you had really spent too much time with the elderly woman.Â
âś
âIt really doesnât sound like a bad idea,â Ava spoke as she munched on some broccoli.Â
âItâs not a bad idea, per se, itâs more that thereâs factors we need to account for that Alexei overlooked. Like the fact that Bob is essentially a weapon that could be taken advantage of by the wrong person if we let them get too close,â Yelena had a point.Â
âIâm not that naiveâŚâ Bob chimed in, but everybody knew he was easily influenced. Not to mention he couldnât control The Void, and where The Sentry was, The Void followed. They couldnât risk it.Â
âI ran a background check, sheâs just a college student. We can try it out with the next mission and see if Bob likes her. Thatâs the most important part, after all,â John argued. He grabbed the pot of potatoes and loaded a pile onto his plate, never satiated.Â
âBob, be like John, eat loads of potatoes. Good for strength,â Alexeiâs mouth was full as he spoke. Bob gave him a small smile in acknowledgement, raising his fork which had a potato on it.Â
âWhat does Bucky think?â Ava asked. The man rarely joined them for dinner, usually âtoo busy.âÂ
âHavenât spoken with him about it yet. Iâll call him after dinner to discuss. We need something if weâre gonna be as busy as Valentina is implying weâll be,â Yelena sighed, stuffing her mouth with chicken.Â
âBob, can you pass me the salt?â She asked, mouth full. The apple doesnât fall far from the tree.Â
They finished dinner and Bob went to clean up as usual while Yelena called Bucky on speakerphone, still at the dining table.Â
âI mean if she passed a background check I see no issue with at least trying it out. Itâs not like we have many other options. He doesnât need an actual caretaker. At least sheâs somewhat his age, right? Maybe a little younger?â Buckyâs voice boomed from the phone and filled the room. The man was so up to date with technology, yet was still convinced he needed to talk louder if he was on speaker.Â
âI guess. Iâll have Alexei call her back. But itâs NOT my fault if this all goes wrong!â Yelena made it very clear. She was not about to be blamed if this ended in disaster. Best possible outcome; the girl did fine, blended in and spent time with Bob. Worst possible outcome? Who knows.Â
âś
âAre you really sure this time?â You asked Alexei over the phone. Youâd been down this road with him before.Â
âYes, Yelena asked me to call you herself. You come by tonight to meet the team and meet Bob. Will be fun!âÂ
âAlright, Iâll be there by 9,â you confirmed. Who named their child Bob in this day and age?Â
âSee you at 9!â Alexei boasted. The man hung up and you stared at your phone bewildered. He better be right. You better not be going back there for nothing again.
If you wanted to be on time, youâd have to leave soon. You put your shoes back on, grabbed your headphones and bag and ran back out the door. You locked it behind you and sped down the stairs of your building.Â
You walked to the subway station and put your earbuds in. Luckily the tower was only a few stops away, or this whole ordeal mightâve been more of a nuisance. The lights flickered irregularly as the metrocar shook through the underground. It seemed as though it was having more trouble than usual, but your trip was short, it didnât matter as long as you got to your destination.Â
The car shook some more as you got off, but it was no longer of any worry. You ran up the stairs of the station and were once again met directly with the entrance to the tower, the second time today.Â
You walked back in and pressed the button for the elevator to come down. You sighed and got on, pressing the button for the penthouse and waited for the doors to close. The last thing you saw before they closed was the glass entrance of the tower being shattered. You flinched on instinct, but the elevator was already taking you up and away from the danger. Your heart thrummed in your chest. Was it just an accident, or was something bigger going on?Â
Your question was soon answered by an announcement over the intercom. Everybody below the top twenty floors had to evacuate the building. Not you, then. Still, you were worried.Â
The elevator came to a halt at the penthouse, doors sliding open agonizingly slow. You were met with a ruckus of people walking around yelling at each other.Â
âBabysitter is here!â Alexei yelled as he tugged a red mask over his face.Â
âWell thatâs great timing, I guess,â Yelena spoke as she sheathed a few knives. She turned to look at you.Â
âBob is in the kitchen. You just need to keep him company for now while we go deal with whatever is going on on the street. Weâll explain everything when we get back. Whatever you do, try to keep him happy, distracted and away from danger. If anything happens to him, your funeral.â The instructions (and threat) were clear.Â
Several people with an assortment of weapons bustled around you as you found your way to the kitchen. You looked around for a child, but there didnât seem to be one in here. The only person you found was the guy you saw getting off the elevator earlier today, with the comfy outfit and tousled hair. He was seated at the breakfast island, watching as the others got ready for what you assumed would be quite the fight.Â
âUh, hi?â It came out as a question unintentionally. He turned to you, your first time catching a good look at his face.Â
âOh! Hi, uhm, you must be the, uh, sitter?â He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. You nodded, putting your bag on the counter and looking him over. You looked around again, no child or teen in sight.Â
âArenât you supposed to be, like, getting ready for battle?â You mimicked a fighting pose. He chuckled and shook his head.Â
âNo, itâs usually best to keep me as far away from those kinds of situations as possibleâŚâ He looked away, obviously not proud of the fact.
You sought out eye contact and reached out your hand. He looked at it before looking back to your eyes, tentatively reaching out. You introduced yourself and stretched your hand out further, encouraging him to take it. He was like a skittish kitten.
âIâm Bob,â was all you heard before your vision was delved in black and you returned to a memory from a past life left behind.
