One Direction, often shortened to 1D, were an English-Irish pop boy band formed in London in 2010. The group consisted of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik (until his departure in 2015), Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. They became one of the best-selling boy groups of all time before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.

Night changes - (album: FOUR)

'Night Changes' is a mellow, introspective ballad from One Direction's fourth album. The song stands out for its tender lyrics about the passage of time and the endurance of love amid life's changes. It showcased the group's evolving maturity, both lyrically and vocally. After the band went on hiatus everybody pursued solo careers. On December 6th, 2019 LP1 was released through Hampton Records and Capitol Records. It is the only solo studio album Liam Payne released during his lifetime. "Teardrops" the first single of his next album was released on March 1st, 2024 (according to his Instagram account).

Bandmember Liam Payne died on October 16th, 2024 (aged 31) after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was there to support Niall Horan. Girlfriend Kate Cassidy left earlier that week and returned to the US. He fell approximately 13 or 14 meters and was left with injuries that were incompatible with life. Drugs were found in his blood but investigations are still ongoing...

After his body arrived from Argentina, he was laid to rest on November 20th, 2024 in the St. Mary´s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, nordwest of London. Many people payed respect to the late singer. Family and friends alike: all (former) One Direction members, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, even former ones, such as Cheryl Tweedy/Crow (with whom he shares seven year old son Bear), Simon Cowell and James Corden.
