Chocolate Torte With Raspberry Sauce

The Rio Tinto is a river in southern Spain that is noted for its distinctive bright red hue, which is caused by the presence of dissolved iron in the water. With a pH of 2, it is also extremely acidic; because of this fact, it has recently gained interest among the scientific community due to the presence of extremophile aerobic bacteria that thrive in its waters. The river has been extensively studied by astrobiologists for its implications on the potential to find such bacteria in subterrenean oceans elsewhere in the solar system.

Neon Luminance is an art project involving a series of neon-lit waterfalls by artists Sean Lenz and Kristoffer Abildgaard. The pair collaborated by dropping powerful glowsticks of various colors down waterfalls across northern California, and then made long exposure photographs for anywhere from 30 seconds to 7 minutes to capture them.

Originally nine small watercolours of a walking crow, made into an animated loop. I had no intention of animating it when I painted the pictures four years ago. The nine small crow paintings were painted for an upcoming exhibition at the time. A couple of days ago I wanted to try and see what they would look like if they actually moved, and so I’ve made my very first animated painting.

This popular beach located in the Maldives, colloquially known as the Sea of Stars, lights up at night due to the presence of phosphorescent phytoplankton. When stressed or agitated (such as when being stepped on, splashed, or due to crashing waves), the phytoplankton glow like submarine fireflies.
