First thing I make back from my break, a little fanfic on my boys. It's sweet and fluffy, no angst around here for now. Hope you enjoy.
Takes place a few months after they join the Toppat Clan, so still before the events of ItA
Words: 2k
Rating: G
Accordion, Violin, Shane, Manuel and Nimbus belong to me.
“Are we even allowed to do this?”
Accordion smiled at his husband as slid his card in the reader, giving them access to the lounge room. “I don’t see why not.” He replied with a chuckle. “There’s no one else here after 11pm. And we have a day off tomorrow. We can sleep in tonight.”
Violin looked down and sighed, nodding. “Alright, I suppose…”
The Toppat in red looked at his husband with concern, as they both stepped inside the darkened room, the door closing behind them. Their footsteps triggered the motion sensors, causing the lights to turn on.
The Diamond Lounge was aptly named for the gorgeous decor and furniture that made it a room mostly for the Elite Toppats. However, it was truly open to any Toppat of any ranking, so as long as nothing was broken or destroyed. The Elites already had their own private lounge after all. While not as extravagant as any room of a fancy mansion, it would suit the needs of the two Toppats tonight on the Airship.
While Violin looked around the room, taking in every detail of it, Accordion stepped into the middle of the room and raised his arms, whistling a few music notes to life and three of the Music Dragon spirits came out of his arm. While the spirits went over to the wall and started creating music instruments with their powers around the piano in the room, the music notes floated around Accordion’s head and moved up and down, as if they were giggling.
“Come on, guys.” Accordion said with a blush as he waved them to the side of the room. “Let’s not waste any time, alright? Just like we planned.”
Violin heard this and he turned around to look at Accordion. “Wait, what have you planned?” He moved over to his husband, tilting his head with a small smile. “What’s going on, Ollie?”
Accordion just smiled and took his husband’s hands in his, leading him to the middle of the room while not saying anything. Violin raised an eyebrow but decided to keep quiet, trusting his husband with whatever he had planned.
When they reached the middle of the room, Accordion took Violin’s left hand in his right and held it up, while he placed his left hand on Violin’s hip. The Toppat in blue suddenly realized what was going on.
“A dance? In this lounge?” Violin chuckled but he followed along with husband, smiling fondly at him. “I don’t remember the last time we had a room to ourselves to just…be us.”
“It’s been a long time coming.” Accordion said softly before he whistled to the spirits. The spirits, Nimbus, Manuel and Shane, echoed his whistling and gathered around the piano, with Manuel sitting on the piano bench. He started to play it, with Nimbus and Shane using their powers to concentrate on humming to the melody of the song he was playing. The other instruments they created were propped up against the wall, ready to be played later on. The other music notes that surrounded the couple started to move up and down in rhythm with the music, making Violin laugh as he watched them.
“Oh, my dears…” He said softly before he whistled a few of his music notes to existence as well. As soon as he did, Accordion pulled him closer to him and they started a slow waltz, with Violin’s music notes joining his husband’s.
From the window of the lounge, moonlight poured into the room as the couple danced to the slow, serene and calming music the notes were playing. The lights had been dimmed to allow the moon to act as a spotlight and the stars twinkling against the midnight sky, they were the other dancers that danced with them. The moonlight shone on certain parts of the lounge, especially on the piano, its keys moving up and down by Manuel’s fingers. If he wasn’t visible, one would think the piano was haunted. Parts of the room seemed to sparkle and glow under the moonlight; the perfect place for a dance like tonight.
Violin laid his head on his husband’s shoulder, closing his eyes as he listened to the song that was being played. It felt familiar, but he couldn’t quite place his finger on which song it was. Accordion gazed at his partner, blushing as he felt the warmth of his breathing against his chest. His ears perked up as he listened closely, hearing his husband’s heartbeat be in time with his. He smiled, his blush deepening as he started to hum along with the music, singing parts of the lyrics.
Lost in the blue
They don’t love me like you do
Those chills that I knew
They were nothing without you
And everyone else
They don’t matter now
You’re the one I can’t lose
No one loves me like you do
Violin gasped and he opened his eyes, looking up at Accordion. “Ollie, this is…”
Accordion looked at his husband, smiling at him. “It’s our first song that we danced together to.” He said softly, reaching up to cup his husband’s cheek in his hand. “Remember? Our first anniversary…”
Tears welled up in Violin’s brown eyes and he sniffed, rubbing them away. “Ah…” He glanced at the clock on the wall, the time reading past midnight and the start of a new day. The day of their anniversary of getting together as a couple. “It’s today isn’t it?” He said to his beloved, looking back at him with a sheepish smile. “I completely forgot…”
Accordion chuckled and kissed his forehead for a moment before pulling away. “We’ve been so busy, there hasn’t been any time to be together.” He said softly. “But today, it’s our day. We’ll spend it together, just you and I.”
Violin smiled back, blushing and giggling as he tilted his head up to kiss his husband on the lips, who kissed him back deeply. At that moment, time seemed to stand still for the couple. The music faded in the background, the ticking of the clock slowed and stopped, and the humming of the Airship’s engines disappeared entirely. As they pulled away from the kiss and pressed their foreheads together, they listened to each other’s deep breathing, feeling the rise and fall of their chests, the smell of light cologne on their necks (waterfall and lavender), to their hearts beating in rhythm.
Violin’s fingers brushed the back of Accordion’s neck, tracing the lines of his burns marks, the lines he knew like the back of his hand after spending so many years with him. His hands wandered to Accordion’s shoulders, where he gently squeezed them and felt the tension slip away instantly. The tension in his own shoulders relaxed, knowing that he and his husband would be okay. He closed his eyes with a smile, humming quietly under his breath.
While his hands shook ever so slightly, Accordion held Violin’s cheek in his gloved hand. Although his own hands were gone, stolen and ripped away on their wedding day, he was still ever so grateful for the chance to even hold his beloved’s face in his hands. With the magic that enhanced his prosthetics, he could feel the warmth of his husband’s skin in the palm of his hands, sending shivers through his arms and into his heart. He closed his eyes with a smile, humming quietly under his breath.
The couple slowly moved back into their slow waltz, as their magic reacted to their combined humming. They turned slowly in a circle, still holding each other close, as a soft red and blue glow surrounded their bodies and made each of their hairs shine like the colors of the galaxy. Accordion’s long black-raven hair lifted itself into the air, revealing dark hues of blues, purples and greens mixed together with small sparkling stars dotted among them like splattered paint on a canvas underneath. They slowly spread out as Trent’s black, short curly hair also started to change, with the hues of red, gold and orange blending into a seamless pattern of the galaxy, with the small white sparkling stars dotted inbetween.
They continued their dance, humming a bit louder as they let themselves enjoy the moment they were having. The room around them disappeared, the colours shifting into a new environment for them: the sandy shore of a beach, the lapping waters of the ocean just barely reaching their feet, the various and colorful seashells hiding beneath the sand or poking through, glistening from the salty sea, and the moon shining ever so brightly above them, its starry children twinkling back down on them. This was where they first confessed to each other, a memory they would forever cherish till the end of their lives.
Accordion and Violin then stood still, finishing the song that they hummed together. As they did, they leaned in for another kiss, holding each other for a moment longer, until they parted to catch their breath. Once they opened their eyes, they were back in the Diamond Lounge as if they had never left. The ticking of the clock had resumed its monotonous rhythm, the moon and the stars were hidden by rolling gray clouds, and the Airship’s engines filled their senses once more like a shockwave at their feet.
Accordion sighed and closed his eyes, rubbing them with his fingers. “Damnit…” He muttered under his breath. “I wanted that to go on for a bit longer to...” He paused before he sighed and looked at Violin apologetically. “I’m sorry, luv.”
Violin gave his husband a soft smile and gave him a quick peck on his lips. “Don’t be. It was wonderful to be in that space again, with just the two of us.” He said in a whisper, leaning his head against his chest once more. He sighed as well, looking down with a small frown. “Although, maybe you’re right…I do wish we could have had more time to…well…you know…”
The taller Toppat held Violin close to them, reaching up to rub his back gently. “To fuse in that space?”
Violin hesitated before he sighed and nodded. He clenched his fists as he gripped the front of Accordion’s jacket in his hands. “I know we said we wouldn’t. Not unless it was an emergency, but…” He looked up at him, a somber expression in his eyes. “I do miss being together in that way.”
Accordion hummed, resting his head against Violin’s. “I know, Tre-Tre. I do too.” He admitted, causing Violin’s eyes to widen. He chuckled sadly, gently pressing his head against his again. “It’s been so long since we fused. But being in that space again…It did almost feel like we were them again, didn’t it?”
Violin smiled at him with a soft chuckle. “It did.” He said quietly, sighing softly. “One day, we’ll be able to do it again. I know it.”
They giggled between themselves until they felt something push at their backs. They turned around and saw their music notes, both red and blue, hitting them and moving so fast up and down, it looked like they were going to launch themselves out of the room with how angry they were acting.
The spirits’ laughter at the music notes antics reminded Accordion of the plan, and he laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his head. “Sorry guys, we got a bit carried away.” He said, carefully petting his music notes. “We didn’t mean to worry you when we stepped out like that.”
“Clearly.” Shane said from the side with his arms crossed, before he was punched in the shoulder by Manuel. He stuck his tongue out at his boyfriend before moving over to where he had created a guitar. “Come on, we don’t have all night! You wanna keep dancing or what?”
The husbands looked at each other before smiling and holding each other’s hand, a blush on both their faces.
“We really should.” Accordion said as he took Violin’s hands in his again before he chuckled. “But let’s make sure we enjoy ourselves. We don’t usually get to do this.”
Violin hummed in agreement and let his husband take the lead, as they started another dance with their music notes surrounding them. The Music Dragon spirits looked at each other with smiles, but they could feel the couple’s disappointment from not being able to fuse. Although they couldn’t do anything about it, they concentrated on playing their instruments with the time they had left. It was a special day to their friends after all, and they deserved to enjoy it as much as possible away from prying eyes.

Hi!
As some of you might know, southern Brazil, specifically the state of Rio Grande do Sul, has been struck by heavy rains and a consequential flood. The rains started on monday (29/abr) and only stopped today (5/mai), in Porto Alegre ─ the state capital, and the city i live in ─ and in the other cities nearby.
The lake that borders PoA (named Guaíba) has reached more than 5m up its normal level. This is higher than on the historic 1941 flood. The city's center ─ a big residential and commercial hub, beyond being the host of most of our public services (such as the city hall and the state government) ─ is completely taken by the water. Many other neighbourhoods were also affected.
Smaller cities that also border Guaíba were even more heavily affected, such as Eldorado do Sul, whose territory was almost 100% flooded.
The state is, for a lack of a better word, abandoned by the people that were supposed to aid.
Our governor, Eduardo Leite, is more worried about his plitical campaign ─ making dramatic videos, changing his facebook pfp to one of him with a public defense vest, making streams with no useful information ─ than with the people's lives. This year, he destinated only R$50.000 (~ USD250.000) for the Civil Defense. For the entire year. He is now, delegating the responsibility of recuperating our state to the Federal Government, stating that "the rbuilding of the RS will demand a Marshall Project".
Porto Alegre's mayor, Sebastião Mello, has vanished. He sold our city out to big enterprises ─ Melnick, Zaffari and Panvel, mainly ─, and hasn't destined any public resources to maintaining the Mauá wall (a wall built after the 1941 flood with a system made to protect the city from other floods), which caused many points to fail and the water to invade the city.
This is the danger we all face with a neoliberal system.
Neoliberalism is an individualist ideology. All these people and companies I named did close to nothing to help us. Or even made it worse. The Civil Defense, for example, published a map of all the areas that would be affected, but had to take it back, since it didn't consider the topography.
Its the people for the people.
This situation is being aided by people using their own resources. Donations of various natures and volunteer work. It is very beautiful, in a way. It shows that colaboration and union can do great things. It shows, at least to me, that the world can reach, one day, a self sustaining way of living, contrary to the ultra-individualistic capitalism some preach. Humans can, and are, good.
But it also lays out how much the people that govern us failed us.
Human lives were lost because of their negligency.
This flood isn't normal. It is a product of the huge levels of degradation multi-billionaire companies are causing the world, supported by higher class and their representatives. Eduardo Leite changed almost 500 points of our state's Environmental Code, for the worst, when he was first elected in 2019. His actions, and the actions of all other neoliberal politicians, such as our ex-president Bolsonaro, are what created this situation. They are responsible for everything that is going on here.
This flood isnt the only environmental crisis this state has faced in the last 6 months. This isn't the last one that will happen.
This text is, beyond a personal vent, a warning. We need to keep fighting against a system that is actively trying to kill us. Please, do not support ideals and people ─ especially if said people will rule you ─ that go against the environment, that preach that the capital, the money, the posesions, are more important than lives. Of the people, of the animals, of the environment. Fight for a better world, i know there can be one.
Always be aware of the climate in your areas. Things like this won't happen only here. Please be safe.
Sorry for the long post.
I really like your art style, she looks so sweet! I would hug her… but I might get burned! 😅
